EIU Football Adds 16 New Transfers

Eastern Illinois football has added 16 mid-year transfers to the program, head coach Chris Wilkerson announced Tuesday.

Among the recruits is Wisconsin Badgers sophomore quarterback Cole LaCrue, a former ESPN three-star recruit after throwing for over 6,000 yards and 57 touchdowns in three seasons as a varsity starter at Broomfield High School.

EIU Football Releases the 2025 Conference Schedule

Eastern Illinois has announced its non-conference schedule for the 2025 season.

Eastern Illinois is set to play eight conference games beginning on September 27th, starting with its in-state rival, Western Illinois.

St. Louis to Host U.S. Figure Skating Championships before 2026 Milan Olympics

The final U.S. Figure Skating Championships before the 2026 Milan Olympics will take place in St. Louis.

U.S. Figure Skating announced Monday the 2026 nationals would be Jan. 5-11 at the Enterprise Center.

As usual, they will serve as the final qualifying event before the selection of the team that will be competing at the next Winter Games.

Altmyer Announces Return to Illini Football for 2025

University of Illinois quarterback, Luke Altmyer, plans to return to the Fighting Illini football program for the 2025 season.

Altmyer made the announced Saturday during a timeout at the Illinois men's basketball game against Tennessee.

Altmyer threw for 2,543 yards, 21 touchdowns and only five interceptions during the regular season.

Effingham High School to Retire Basketball Legend's Jersey

Effingham high school will retire the jersey of Flaming Heart Legend, Blair Hardiek on December 14th.

Hardiek graduated in 2003 and still holds the EHS records for career points, rebounds, and steals.

EIU Men's Basketball Faces Off Against Red-Hot Butler Bulldogs

The Eastern Illinois men's basketball team traveled to Indianapolis to face the Butler Bulldogs.

Eastern held a 24-22 lead with 5:22 left in the first half, but Butler reclaimed the advantage with 4:24 remaining and led the rest of the way en route to a 73-58 victory.

The Panthers (2-6) were led by forward Kooper Jacobi, who led all scorers with 22 points.

Illinois Assistant Coach Dana Dimel Passes Away

The University of Illinois has recently announced the passing of long-time college football coach Dana Dimel, who passed away in his sleep Tuesday at the age of 62.

The Fighting Illini are set to face off against number 8 seeded Northern Iowa in the tournament opener taking place in Louisville Kentucky.

Lake Land College to add Cross Country teams in Fall 2025

Lake Land college announced they will be adding a cross country team to their campus for the first time in 20 years.
