The Eastern Illinois men's basketball team traveled to Indianapolis to face the Butler Bulldogs.
Eastern held a 24-22 lead with 5:22 left in the first half, but Butler reclaimed the advantage with 4:24 remaining and led the rest of the way en route to a 73-58 victory.
The Panthers (2-6) were led by forward Kooper Jacobi, who led all scorers with 22 points.
EIU guard Nakyel Shelton added 12 points and finished with a team-high 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
Butler improves to 7-1 on the young season thanks to 20-point performances by forwards Patrick McCaffrey and Jahmyl Telfort.
The Panthers return home for a showdown against Calumet on Friday, Dec. 6, at noon in the annual Children's Day game at Groniger Arena.
