Two Moultrie County Schools Announce End of Co-op Program

Wednesday, 29 January 2025

Sullivan High School and Okaw Valley have announced the end of their 20 year football co-op program.

Sullivan High School and Okaw Valley will not be renewing the co-op agreement moving into the 2025-2026 year.

The deal will not be renewed due to Okaw Valley's failure to meet the threshold of securing athletes.

Through the last six years Okaw Valley only contributed about two athletes per grade, said Sullivan Schools superintendent Ted Walk.

From 2007 to 2017, participation met this threshold, but since the conclusion of the 2018 season Okaw Valley was not able to meet the requirements says Walk.

Since those contraints weren't met there will not be an administrative recommendation for renewal.

As for the school's co-op agreement regarding swimming and cross country, there have been no instances of failing to meet the requirements resulting in an administrative recommendation for renewal, Walk said.
