A damaging EF-1 tornado traveled 12 miles through Champaign County Sunday afternoon, according to information released by the National Weather Service.
The tornado began in southwest Champaign County near the intersection of County Road 100 North and 200 East around 1:22 p.m. It then traveled northeast at 60 miles per hour, ending just north of Tolono near U.S. Highway 45, according to NWS.
The tornado, which had peak winds of 90 miles per hour, uprooted a few trees and damaged outbuildings, including one that collapsed northwest of Tolono.
