A team of auditors from the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program are set to review the Charleston Police Department's procedures, management, and policies.
ILEAP is a voluntary accreditation program administered by the Illinois Association of Chrifs of Police
The accreditation is taking place to determine if the Charleston Police Department continues to meet its standards of excellence.
As a part of the on-site assessment, ILEAP assessors invite the community to call in and provide input on Monday from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. and provide feedback on the department.
Community members are urged to call (217) 348-5221 to speak privately with a representative from ILEAP.
