Effingham County officials have launched the Emergency Displaced Victims Fund to provide aid to those who have bee affected by disasters, such as fires.
The program can provide people with groceries, clothing, tolietries, supplies for infants and other personal items, said officials.
The fund is designed to offer quick assistance until other organizations like the Red Cross or Salvation Army can help, said organizers.
Up to $200 per person will be available with eligibility determined through an interview process, said officials.
