The Eastern Illinois Men's soccer team falls short 5-1 in it's game against the University of Detroit Mercy on Monday.
The slow-moving first half was disrupted by the Titans as they quickly scored two goals pushing their lead to 3-0.
The Panthers attempted a come back as Casey Welage assisted Jackson Liley for EIU's first, but only goal of the game.
Detroit Mercy was able to find a way to keep the lead after coming out of a break as they scored two more goals, extending the lead to 5-1.
Eastern played one of their more physical games as they finished the match with a total of five yellow cards and 12 fouls.
EIU's record now sits at 1-1-0 for the 2024 season.
Next up, the Panthers will travel to Purdue Fort Wayne on August 29th.
