Indiana State Women's Basketball Unveils Its 2024-25 Non-Conference Schedule
Indiana State Women's Basketball is gearing up for its 2024 campaign, folliwing the unveiling of the Sycamores' 2024-25 non-conference schedule.
The trees' head coach Marc Mitchell announced the schedule on Monday afternoon, as the Trees are set for 11 non-conference contests against teams from the Big East, Big Ten or Big XII, and five total games against 2023-24 postseason clubs.
The Sycamores will celebrate opening day at home, kicking off the season November 4 at home, against the Lady toppers, notably the third time in the last four years that Indiana State and Western Kentucky have squared off on the hardwood.
Following the season's opener, Indiana State hits the road for their next two games, starting with a November 7 tilt at Iowa State, a team whom the Sycamores have never played against prior to this upcoming season, and then November 12 against Wright State.
The Sycamores play its final home non-conference game on November 15 when Austin Peay travels north to Terre Haute, the Sycamores' first contest against Austin Peay since 2000.
Following the contest against Austin Peay, Indiana State plays seven straight games on the road, with six of those being on the road, the final contest being against Butler University.
The month of November concludes with the Sycamores' pit stop in the Show-Me state with a November 30th contest against Southeast Missouri State, then moving into the month of December against Marquette on December 3rd.
Indiana State will continue their cold month of December against the Panthers of Eastern Illinois University on December 6, following a Multi-Team Event (MTE) on December 15-16 in Richmond, Kentucky, where the Trees play Northern Illinois, a notable opponent the Sycamores faced in the 2023 Puerto Rico Clasico.
The Sycamores' non-conference slate will end in West Lafayette against the Purdue Boilermakers on December 21, marking the third straight season with this matchup.
The Trees' 20-game Missouri Valley Conference schedule is set to be announced after it is finalized by the conference office in the coming weeks; tip times for the upcoming season will also be announced once finalized.
Some new faces are set to take the hardwood, including the team's new head coach Marc Mitchell, entering his first season leading the club, as well as nine returning players from last year's club.
