Colleges and Universities around Illinois are set to receive $10.5 million in grants to support students’ mental health and help ensure they graduate on time, Governor JB Pritzker announced Friday.
The grants, which come through the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund, are meant to help schools provide academic and emotional support for students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly Black, Latino, low-income, first generation, working adult and rural students, according to the announcement.
