A teen who admitted writing a threatening note at Taylorville High School last fall pleaded guilty Friday to disorderly conduct.

Investigators believe Payton Chronister, 18, wrote a note on a bathroom stall claiming a school shooter was in the building, then reported the note himself to staff. Police said Chronister hoped to gain attention and get out of class early.

A judge sentenced Chronister to 18 months probation and four days in jail, with credit for two days already served in jail, according to online court records.
