Lee's Famous Recipe in Mattoon Illinois has begun the process to rebuild.
On September 23, 2022, a fire started in the restaurant’s kitchen causing everyone in the building to evacuate.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control withing 15 minutes, but the building suffered fire, heat, and smoke damage, said fire officials.
According to the restaurants Facebook page demolition on the building has started, and they don't have a confirmed reopening date.
