An apartment building caught fire in Mattoon over the weekend which forced four residents out of their homes.
The fire was on Richmond Avenue and was reported when smoke was seen coming from the apartment building's attic, according to Fire Chief Jeff Hilligoss.
Crews quickly arrived on scene and were able to put out the flames within 20 minutes by cutting a hole in the roof, Hilligoss said.
There were no injuries as every resident was able to get out of the building before the fire department arrived, the fire report said.
The fire appears to be from electrical issues originating from the attic of the apartment building, said fire officials.
