The Crawford Memorial Hospital has issued a scam alert after many reports of phone calls falsely identifying themselves as the hospital.
The scammers send text messages or emails to Cash App users telling them their account has been compromised or that they need to change passwords and usernames, hospital officials said.
They also send links to a fake website that steals the person's username and password when they try to log in, according to Crawford Memorial Hospital.
If the scammers get a hold of login credentials, it could lead to financial risk as they have access to the Cash App account, officials said.
Do not respond to any texts or emails asking for personal information or click on any links as it could lead you to a fake site," said Crawford Memorial Hospital Representatives.
