Drivers between Charleston and Mattoon will see some construction.
Illinois Department of Transportation officials said resurfacing of Illinois Route 16 will start March 16th.
Officials said the road work will require lane closures, but drivers will still have access to businesses within the work zone.
They said drivers should expect delays when traveling between Charleston and Interstate 57 and use alternative routes.
Officials said the project is expected to last about six months.
