Governor J.B. Pritzker has canceled classes at all and private schools in the state starting Tuesday, March 17th.
That closure runs through March 30th, and it affects kindergarten through high school.
The governor says no district will lose funding because of the closure.
He also says the state board of education will arrange food pickup and delivery for kids who get free breakfast and lunch.
The State Superintendent says each district can decide how to teach students away from school.
Mattoon Community Unit School District 2 said they'll be closed starting Monday, March 16.
District leaders said students can pick up all essential items, books and valuables between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, March 16th.
They say Monday, students and families won't have any access to the school until classes resume Tuesday, March 31st.
Mattoon CUSD #2 administrators say students will not be expected to complete curricular work for a
grade during the closure.
