A local K-9 officer is getting a new set of body armor.

Clark County Sheriff's officials said Officer Xena is receiving a bullet and stab protective vest.

It's a donation from non-profit organization Vested Interests in K9s incorporated.

Delivery of the new armor is expected within eight to ten weeks.

To qualify for the vests, officials said dogs must be actively employed with U.S. law enforcement, and must be at least 20 months of age.
