Tuesday, 11 February 2020

The former Helen Matthes Library building in Effingham is off the market.

The nonprofit, Community Opportunities Incorporated bought the building for just over $150,000.

Auction Manager Nelson Aumann said Community Opportunities plans to renovate the building and lease it to CEFS for preschool programs.

He said the programs will serve 60 low-income children.

Aumann said renovations will take about nine months to complete, and will start as soon as closing takes place within 30 to 60 days.

Community Opportunities Incorporated is based in Nokomis, Illinois.

The non-profit has been helping communities find office space and educational facility space since the 1990's.
