A local police department is providing free cellphones to seniors.
Taylorville Police Department says they will provide cellphones to seniors who can't afford it.
Chief Dwayne Wheeler says the free cellphones will only dial 911.
Wheeler said the phones can also be activated with nationwide carriers.
