After years of searching, the Mattoon P.A.D.S. community organization finally has a location to build a new homeless shelter.
Director of P.A.D.S. Michael Stopka says the new property was donated in memory of late Mattoon businessman Adolf Kull by his wife and son.
Stopka says the location is at 1812 Western Avenue and will replace the current shelter which is at 2017 Broadway Avenue.
He says the next step is to get the city's approval, and he believes it's an ideal location the city will be happy with.
