Beer Garden Law

Friday, 18 September 2015

Lawmakers are making it tougher for smokers to find a public place to light up.

Officials say they have tweaked a definition in the Smoke Free Illinois Act.

They have banned smoking in any public place with a floor and ceiling, whether or not the walls are retractable.

Restaurant and bar owners are wondering if beer gardens they built for smokers will soon become smokeless.

The state's health department won't comment on the fate of beer gardens.
