Should Students Have Phones while in Class?

Teachers, lawmakers, and others are warning that smartphones in schools are distracting from learning. This school year, Decatur Public Schools have added a stricter policy requiring that students' phones be powered off and locked away during the day, and some local leaders are calling on other districts to take similar action. That has parents and educators talking. This week, News Watch's Matt Williamson and Production Assistants Rob Le Cates, Alex Sitman and Olivia Caroll spoke with both groups about the benefits, and concerns, of cracking down on phones in schools
