Frichtl Processing and Slaughtering is expanding with a new meat processing and packaging facility in Dieterich, state officials announced Tuesday.
The business, which began in 2023, has agreed to invest $2.5 million to build the facility in Dieterich's new Industrial Park East. Along with processing beef, hogs and deer, the facility will also include a retail store offering locally-sourced meats and other foods, according to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
The site will also bring six new full-time jobs, state officials said.
As part of an incentive plan, the project will receive an Economic Developemnt for a Growing Economy tax credit, according to a Tuesday news release.
