Two children are recovering after being rescued from a well in Christian County.
A 2-year-old was playing on top of a well cover when a 14-year-old moved to try to get them off, according to Taylorville Fire Chief Matthew Adermann.
That's when the well cover broke and the two children fell about 15 feet into 30 foot deep water, said Adermann.
The Taylorville Fire Department used a pre-made rigging system to pull the kids to safety.
The two children were uninjured, and transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for evaluation, according to Adermann.
One member of the Taylorville Fire Department had minor injuries as a result of the rescue.
