Monday, 28 October 2024

Several groups are teaming up to salute our local veterans!

Sarah Bush Lincoln, the Coles County Council on Aging the Effingham City-County committee, and the Senior Service of Effingham are hosting Flightless Honor Flights, said Sarah Bush Lincoln.

The experience is designed for veterans who may not be able to physically travel on an actual honor flight to Washington D.C.

The event takes place on Wednesday, November 6th, and veterans can choose between a morning flight at the Lifespan Center in Mattoon, or an afternoon service at the Effingham Event Center, according to Sarah Bush Lincoln.

To reserve your seat on the morning flight, you can call the Coles County Council on Aging at (217) 639-5150.

You can book your seat for the afternoon flight by calling Senior Services at (217) 347-5569.
