Help is coming for Illinois families trying to heat their homes.
The Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, is helping low income families pay for electricity, propane, and natural gas.
The Embarrass River Basin Agency is accepting applications starting October 1st for those over 60, people with disabilities, and families with children five and under, according to the agency.
Others who are eligible can apply starting November 1st.
They say applications will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis through August 15th, or until they run out of funding.
