Three former Eastern Illinois University baseball players got the call to the MLB this season.
Will Klein is the first of the trio to make his appearance.
Klein was drafted by Kansas City in 2020. He made his debut with the Royals picking up a win in five games played.
Since being traded to the Oakland Athletics, he appeared in three games before being sent down to the Las Vegas Aviators on Saturday.
Hayden Birdsong tore through the farm system for the San Francisco Giants after being selected in the 6th round of the 2022 draft. Birdsong appeared in nine games so far, picking up a three and three record.
Finally, Trey Sweeney made his debut Friday with the Detroit Tigers. Sweeney was selected by the Yankees in the first round of the 2021 MLB draft.
Sweeney has recorded 1 hit in 7 at bats for the Tigers.
