Eastern Illinois Hires New Head Coach

Eastern Illinois University announces the hiring of a new head softball coach.
Mattoon native and EIU graduate Kristi Paulson will start with the program this week.
"I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to coach at my alma mater. I would like to personally thank Tom Michael and EIU for entrusting me with the vision and future of the softball program," said Paulson.
Paulson comes to Eastern after coaching at Parkland College in Champaign.
She was hired this summer to coach at Lake Land before being offered the job at Eastern Illinois.
Paulson played softball at Lake Land College before attending Eastern Illinois and earning her bachelor's degree in 2011.
She is the co-founder and head softball coach of Premier Fastpitch Softball based in Mattoon which has earned both NFCA Region Coach of the Year awards and National Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
