Two Paris brothers face child pornography charges after they were arrested following a search of their home Thursday, according to the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.
Robert Porter, 47, is charged with six counts of child porn possession and is being held on $500,000 bond, authorities said. His brother, Toby Porter, 38, is charged with three counts of child porn possession and is being held on $300,000 bond.
The arrests are part of an ongoing effort by the Attorney General’s office and other agencies to arrest those who download and trade child pornography online.
The Attorney General’s office operates the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which investigates child exploitation crimes and receives online tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The number of tips has steadily increased in recent years, jumping 26 percent in 2022, according to the Attorney General’s office.
