The Department of Justice gave two grants to Paris schools for improving student and faculty safety.

Paris school district 95 officials said $587,027 from the DOJ's School Safety and Violence Prevention Programs will be used to bring new safety measures and training.

Officials said the grants will help continue these programs and add upgrades to security systems.

They said, last summer, all district 95 staff received training to identify mental health challenges and threat assessments after receiving $278,801 from the DOJ in 2022.
