A resource officer has started walking the halls in Charleston schools as a new program with the Charleston Police Department began Thursday.
Administrators said CPD's Erica Roa started her role as the district's School Resource Officer.
They said Roa has been with the department for ten years and spent the past nine of those years as a juvenile officer.
Administrators said Roa, who was also a police liaison to the district, will be serving all CUSD schools.
