Officer Involved Shooting Reported in Terre Haute, Indiana

An investigation is ongoing in Terre Haute after an officer involved shooting.

The Indiana State Police said the shooting happened on 1st Avenue near 16th Street during a domestic situation between a husband and wife.  

Authorities said a Terre Haute police officer entered the home and heard cries for help.

The officer knocked down a door and found a man with a knife, said officials.

Indiana State Police said the suspect wouldn't drop the knife nd came towards the officer who shot and killed James Ready (42).

State Police said the officer, Adam Noel, has been placed on administrative leave which is departmental policy.

They said a female was taken to the hospital with stab wounds, but her injuries are not life threatening.
