Mattoon officials are proposing a million dollar federally funded project, but first they want to hear from the community.
Officials said they've scheduled a public hearing for residents to express views on the proposed Little Wabash Drainage Project for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13th in the City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 208 N. 19th St.
They said the project would include installations of storm/sewer pipes between the Little Wabash River and Illinois Route-16.
Public Works Director Dean Barber said residents can review information on the project, before the hearing, at the city clerk's office in city hall.
Officials said they will request $925,000 from the Community Development Block Grant federal program and use $375,000 dollars from Mattoon's Capital Projects Fund.
