The city of Mattoon is planning an event to salute local veterans.
The Mattoon Tourism office said a parade is planned on Friday.
The parade with start at 10:15a.m. at 21st and Western Streets, said officials.
The tourism office said aa ceremony will take place after the parade at Peterson Park and feature music and speakers.
The city hosts the parade every year and city officials said all veterans are welcome to attend the parade and ceremony.
Parade forms can be picked up at the Mattoon Tourism office.
For those who do not fill out a form, they will be placed at the end of the parade line, said officials.
