The Illinois Department of Public Health is urging Illinois residents to get fully vaccinated for COVID.
Last friday, the IDPH relased information showing the number of counties with elevated numbers of COVID in Illinois are on the rise.
IDPH Director Dr. Sameer Vohra urges Illinois residents to get fully protected with the new bivalent booster shots and the Flu vaccine before we get to the holiday season.
IDPH officials said these new bivalent booster shots are designed to offer additional protection against the dominant strains of the Omicron variant.
The CDC released data showing 38 counties in Illinois are at elevated community levels for COVID.
The IDPH report shows 13,642 new confirmed cases and 67 deaths in Illinois from COVID since October 21st.
