A Monticello man pleaded guilty last month for his role in the overdose death of a woman in Mattoon last April.

Jonte Powell, 27, pleaded guilty to a charge of Drug Induced Homicide and was sentenced to six years in prison with credit for half a year already served in jail, court records show.

Police arrested Powell in May after they say he sold the woman the heroin that caused her death, authorities said.
