A Taylorville man is facing a felony charge after firing a handgun and hitting his neighbor's house.
The Christian County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened on Wednesday in rural Taylorville. Officials responded to the call of a person having a mental health crisis combined with shots being fired.
Officials say 33-year-old Matthew Adams had fired around 30 shots at his own vehicles. They say a few of those rounds did hit a neighbor's home. The Sheriff's Office says Adams had stopped firing his gun before officers arrived.
Officials say after an investigation, there weren't any injuries reported. They say they don't believe Adams intended to hurt anyone.
Adams was arrested after being evalutated at a local hospital. He now faces a reckless discharge of a firearm charge.
