Charleston city council members will be voting on a cannabis tax.
The city hasn't decided if they'll allow the sale of recreational marijuana within city limits, but they want a tax in place.
If approved, the ordinance would implement a maximum 3% tax on all retail sales of cannabis.
Last fall, the council voted unanimously to put a moratorium in place until May 31st, delaying a decision on marijuana businesses in town, but that moratorium can be extended.
