Coles County EMA Looking for New Trained Weather Spotters

A local emergency management agency is seeking new severe weather spotters.

The Coles County EMA is looking for farmers interested in becoming trained field spotters.

Spotters would need to attend a free training class to participate.

Coles County EMA and Eastern Illinois University are hosting a spotter class, taught by the National Weather Service, Monday, March 23rd.

The class starts at 6 p.m. and will be held in Buzzard Auditorium on Eastern's campus.

All ages are welcome, but only those 18 years and older can be official spotters.
