The leader of a Coles County meth trafficking network receives a thirty-year prison sentence in federal court.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says 38-year old Travis Tuggle of Mattoon is responsible for distributing more than 45 pounds of highly addictive 'ice' methamphetamine, valued at more than one million dollars, to drug users from late 2013 through early 2016.

Tuggle plead guilty to the crime last September.

Court documents show Tuggle initiated his network in 2012 while in jail.

He recruited accomplices once he was released on parole and started importing meth to Mattoon from Chicago.

Nine other individuals were charged and convicted for their roles in assisting Tuggle.

The cases are a result of an investigation conducted by numerous federal, state, and local authorities.
