Minors will soon be allowed in Urbana bars, but only under strict limitations.
On Monday, Urbana officials agreed to allow teenagers, ages 14 to 17, into local bars for live events such as concerts, though only for events that end by 11 p.m., and they cannot be sold or consume alcohol.
They say the minors may only be present at these bars during live events and one hour before or after the event ends.
The ordinance goes into effect this July.
