Nursing Agreement

Tuesday, 25 February 2020

Two Illinois schools are partnering to help students get degrees in nursing sooner, all in an effort to help the national nursing shortage.

Officials said Richland Community College and Illinois State University agreed to a pre-admission and dual enrollment agreement.

ISU's Nursing College Marketing Director Emily McMahon said this allows nursing students at Richland to be admitted to Illinois State earlier or take classes online through ISU while attending Richland

McMahon said the program will help students graduate earlier and start jobs.

She said the program is now accepting applications and will start this fall.

Recently, in another partnership, Lincoln Land College partnered up with Memorial Health System to begin admitting 90 more nursing students beginning fall 2021.
