Enrollment is down slightly at a local college, but officials said part of that is due to a new counting method.
Lake Land College released their tenth day enrollment at 4,301 students, a 14% decrease from last spring.
Lake Land Director of Marketing and Public Relations Kelly Allee said part of that decrease is due to a new procedure.
She said the college no longer includes short-term classes, like CPR and highway work training, in the 10th day totals.
If they had been included, Allee said, the decrease from last spring would've only been 5%.
Allee did report a retention rate of students from the fall to spring.
