Rescue efforts just got a little easier in Crawford County.
The sheriff's department recently acquired a 19-86 Humvee, similar to the one in this photo, to aid in investigations that may end up in hard to reach areas.
Sheriff William Rutan says the vehicle is big enough to carry rescue equipment, and bring injured persons out of the river bottoms.
Rutan says the department acquired the all-terrain vehicle through the federal Law Enforcement Support Office program.
