A local university partners with a school district to create a better learning environment.
Over 50 Eastern Illinois University faculty and staff are partnering with Charleston's Community Unit School District in hopes to improve the learning for all grades.
Officials from both institutes will meet on Monday in the MLK Union to discuss learning approaches and outcomes.
Officials said workshops aligned between EIU programs, local, and national educational needs will be put in place.
They said students grades, skill sets, and more will be monitored based off a competency- based system.
Officials said Monday's meeting is not the only time the two institutes plan to collaborate.
