A local police department is getting ready to start some long overdue renovations.
On January 30th, work will start on the Charleston Police Department's front lobby.
The project will be done by Grunloh Construction of Effingham and cost around $350,000 dollars.
Chief Chad Reed says improvements include a more handicap accessible front entrance and new private interview rooms for officers.
Construction will last approximately be three months.
During that time, Charleston Police will temporarily locate walk-in services to the Charleston City Hall Lobby located next door.
