Man Accused of Burglarizing Church

A Mattoon man is in jail accused of burglarizing a church.
Police say 50-year-old Demetris Watts Senior broke into Mattoon Free Methodist church through a window.
They say he stole thousands of dollars of audio gear and electronics.
Investigators say they tracked the GPS on a stolen tablet to Watts' home where they recovered the stolen goods.
Police say Watts was in court for a hearing Thursday morning when he fired his public defender, pledged to defend himself and cursed in court.
A judge set watts' bond at $50,000 and gave him eight days in jail for cursing in court.
