A Piatt County official is facing criminal charges.
Court records show county Board chair Ray Spencer is accused of forgery and official misconduct.
News Watch received a copy of the arrest warrant that accuses Spencer of deleting parts of memos from the county state's attorney to the county board.
It accuses him of adding the state's attorney's digital signature to the altered memos and then passing them on to a news outlet.
He's also accused of trying to hire private counsel to advise the county board.
Court records reveal three judges have excused themselves from the case and referred it to the office of the chief judge for re-assignment.
Spencer is also not allowed to have any contact with the courthouse.
