The juvenile charged in the death of 16-year-old Kaylee Jacob is sentenced to six years.
The teen will remain in the Department of Juvenile Justice until he's 21.
He will also have to pay court costs and more than $10,000 to the Jacob family for funeral costs.
Jacob died of a single gunshot wound last October.
Police say the incident happened in the 3200 block of South Banker Street in Effingham.
The gun involved in the shooting was reported stolen, but the juvenile didn't know it was loaded.
