Two local communities will see marijuana the next time they vote!

Champaign and Urbana residents voted unanimously at a Tuesday township meeting, adding the topic to the general election ballot in November.

Voters will answer if they think Illinois should legalize the recreational use of the drug.

Champaign City Clerk Marilyn Banks says the community brought attention to the topic and gathered signatures on a petition.

Officials say the result of the vote will not be binding, it's just to gauge public opinion.
