U of I Strike

While Lake Land College continues to celebrate, the University of Illinois could be facing a strike.

Officials say nearly 500 University of Illinois faculty members are pushing for more job security through multi-year contracts and have voted to explore the option of a strike.

Associate Chancellor of Public Affairs Robin Kaler says they've been working to reach a collective bargaining agreement that will be fair to all parties.

Officials say this is the first of several steps that will be taken before the group will picket.
